The personal accident insurance covers:
The benefit for health damage resulting from a personal accident. It is paid in the amount of 1% of the sum insured for each percentage of health damage.
The death benefit for death resulting from a personal accident.

What is the personal liability insurance?

This insurance covers claims to persons or property caused by you or persons legally under your care during the trip. These claims may result, for example, from practicing amateur sports, cycling, using strollers, or renting a property for a continuous stay of up to 30 days.

Can I insure my travel luggage?

Yes, the insurance may also cover travel luggage or sports equipment. Such coverage includes destruction, loss, or damage to the luggage or equipment during transport, storage or use throughout the trip.

Can I extend the scope of Health Insurance for Foreigners?

Yes, it is possible to extend the scope of coverage if you came to Poland and intend to:

perform physical work,
practice sports professionally,
practice high-risk sports.

After paying an additional premium, the coverage also includes events occurring during physical work and medical costs resulting from it, and consequences of accidents, as well as medical costs, consequences of accidents and civil liability for performing high-risk and competitive sports.

Who can conclude a contract for Health Insurance for Foreigners?

The person concluding the insurance contract is the policyholder. It may be a natural person, a legal person, or an organisation without legal personality.

The policyholder may conclude an insurance contract for themselves or for another person. The person for whom the contract has been concluded is the insured person. Therefore, when a person concludes an insurance contract for themselves, they are both the policyholder and the insured person.

Is having a Health Insurance for Foreigners mandatory?

Purchasing a Health Insurance for Foreigners is not mandatory. Nevertheless, it guarantees coverage in the event of a sudden illness or accident while traveling.

For what period can a contract for Health Insurance for Foreigners be concluded?

The insurance contract may be concluded for a year or for a shorter period (short-term insurance). In both cases, the scope of coverage remains the same.

When does the coverage under Health Insurance for Foreigners begin?

The beginning of the coverage period is always indicated on the policy. This is the day when the company’s liability period begins, provided that the policyholder:
concluded the insurance contract with the insurance company and
paid the entire insurance premium or its first instalment at least one day prior.

When does the coverage under Health Insurance for Foreigners end?

The liability of the insurance company ends when the insurance contract expires. Such a contract usually expires when the period for which the contract was concluded is over. The end of the insurance period is always specified in the policy.

Can I renew my insurance coverage after the insurance period has expired?

Yes, the insurance contract may be renewed if the policyholder concludes a contract with the insurance company for another period and pays the premium. In such a situation, the continuity of insurance coverage is maintained.

Is it possible to terminate the Health Insurance for Foreigners contract?

Yes, the policyholder may terminate such a contract at any time, subject to 30 days' notice.

The notice must be given in writing and delivered to the insurance company within 30 days from the date of the conclusion of the contract if the policyholder is a natural person, or within 7 days if the policyholder is an entrepreneur.

Who can make a claim?

After an insured event occurs, a claim can be made by the policyholder, the insured person, the legal representative of the insured person or the person cared for by the insured person.

When should I report the occurrence of an event under Health Insurance for Foreigners?

After an insured event occurs, the insurance company must be notified within 14 days.

What documents are required to make a claim under Health Insurance for Foreigners?

To make a claim, you must provide the insurance company with a completed claim report form and other documents necessary to establish that the event actually occurred and to determine the amount of benefit to be paid.

What should be indicated in the claim report f?

This form should describe the circumstances of the insured event (e.g. accident) and the resulting claim or loss.

The insurance company may also ask you to provide, for example:

documentation of treatment or rehabilitation,
inventory of damaged property,
confirmation of reporting the claim to the police,
cost estimates or invoices for treatment costs, purchase of medicines, dressings, etc.

Who receives the compensation under Health Insurance for Foreigners?

The compensation or benefit may be paid to the insured person or to another person authorised to collect it.

However, if the insurance company compensates for the costs, the compensation or benefit is paid to the person or entity that incurred these costs, e.g. the medical facility that treated the insured person.

Can I present my Health Insurance for Foreigners when applying for a visa for temporary residence in Poland?
